MENTAL HEALTH AWARENESS WEEK

9th-15th May 2022

During this pandemic, many of us have found our mental health has suffered, or seen a loved one struggle. For Mental Health Awareness Week we stepped up the fight for mental health. Hosted annually by the Mental Health Foundation, the theme of the week for 2022 was ‘Loneliness’. Our connection to other people and our community is fundamental to protecting our mental health and we need to find better ways of tackling the epidemic of loneliness. We can all play a part in this.

We were delighted to bring back our virtual walk – The ‘Race to Rungis’ for a second year. Our walk took us to our twin town in France, Rungis, where we met representatives from the town and learnt more about their culture.  We travelled a total mileage of 1335.87.

We’d especially like to thank Magna Carta Primary Academy, Romeera Gym, Stansted Unathletic, Muddy Walkers, Women’s Hour and Veg Shed members and all our steering committee, volunteers and supporters for taking part, and our twin town colleagues in Rungis for their contributions and support.

Thank you to everyone who sent us their miles, commented, ‘liked’, shared or simply watched online.
