WALK, TALK & CONNECT WITH NATURE
Muddy Walkers is an informal walking group based in Stansted Mountfitchet. We meet regularly throughout the year to walk together, talk together and connect with nature.
Everyone is welcome to join. You can come with friends or family, or alone and match up with someone. There’s no set route and each week we follow a different route around the village. And at the end of the walk, you can simply go home or you can simply peel off on the way if you are close to home.
MEETING TIME: 7PM every Thursday (March-October) and occasional evenings from November to February.
MEETING POINT: Outside the Coop just off Lower Street, Stansted.
GETTING THERE: The Coop is just off the fiveways roundabout at one end of Lower Street. Parking in the car park is free after 5PM.
WALKING GROUPS: We walk together. Children between 13 and 17 must have permission from a parent or guardian to participate. Children under 13 must be accompanied.
ROUTES: We follow different routes each week around Stansted. In the summer months we follow the paths, lanes and fields. In the winter months we try to follow well-lit, but quiet streets. Typically we walk between 3 and 4 miles and there some hills involved.
PREPARATION: Please come dressed for the weather conditions with boots or stout shoes. We recommend you carry water, a snack, a fully charged mobile phone and a rain mac or umbrella.
REGISTRATION: We would prefer if you registered here to let us know you plan to take part, but anyone can turn up and register before you start walking. Registration of basic details is necessary for insurance purposes, but we treat all information in strictest confidence. YOU WILL ONLY NEED TO REGISTER ONCE.
